Article Submission Guidelines
All Articles in Our Database have Free Re-print Rights
Whois Article Directory provides free informative content allowing webmasters, or publishers to re-print articles according to the terms and conditions outlined on this site. If you are an author that charges a fee for publication of your articles or requires that special terms be met prior to publication of your work, please do NOT submit your writings to this site.
Author's Submission Guidelines
You are free to submit articles written by you for inclusion to our article directory. Every article is reviewed by Whois Article Directory prior to adding it to the article database. Articles you submit will be available to readers generally within 24 hours after review.
-
Do NOT submit articles that are not your own.
-
The article content must be unique. We do NOT allow re-branded (re-written) articles.
-
You must be the sole copyright holder for each article you submit. Articles written by a ghost writer are perfectly acceptable as long as they are being used only by yourself.
-
By submitting your articles for inclusion to our article database, you grant us the right to publish your article anywhere on our website, blog, or syndicate through RSS without restriction.
-
By submitting your articles for inclusion to our article directory you grant others the right to publish your articles. Whois Article Directory users have the right to publish your articles on their websites or in their newsletters or Ezine providing the article is left in the original state. This includes the Authors Bio which provides you credit as the author of the content, and the article source link.
-
No affiliate links are permitted. It is acceptable to mention the URL's of helpful sites or your own website which may contain a link to the recommended affiliate product. You are permitted up to 2 links in your Bio.
-
Authors need to determine the appropriate category for your article when it is submitted.
-
Submissions that are commercial or advertorial in content will not be published. We provide a free informative article database, not a forum for advertising commercial products, services or programs. Abusers will be banned.
-
Submissions that are less than 500 words will not be published. Articles may not be considered if they contain no useful content (filler) or are submitted for the sole purpose of obtaining back-links or promoting a product or service.
-
Article submissions that are plagiarized or in violation of another author's copyright will be deleted. Read the section below for more information on our copyright policy.
-
Submitting an article in no way guarantees inclusion. All articles are reviewed by a real person. We reserve the right to reject an article submission for any reason.
-
Please spell check and proof read for grammatical errors prior to submitting. Do not submit articles filled with spelling errors and bad grammar.
NOTE: We reserve the right to remove any article or articles for any reason with or without notice or explanation. In cases where the above or other guidelines are abused, the abuser will be banned.
Article Criteria
Article submissions are subject to the outlined below:
-
Article Title: maximum 60 characters.
-
Article Body: no less than 500 words and no more than 1500 words.
-
Author Bio: 400 characters or roughly 60 words.
-
Bio Links: You can have up to 2 links in your Bio.
Article Formatting and Links
Article submissions should be cut-and-pasted onto the submission form from a notepad document. Be sure to have the article properly formatted when submitting it. This will ensure that paragraph breaks, line length and other basic formatting will be preserved.
NOTE: Copying and pasting content from other applications such as MS Word can and does result in a variety of formatting problems. MS Word and similar applications use non-ASCII (sometimes invisible) characters that are copied with article content into our submission form. This results in articles appearing differently from the way they were submitted.
Use of HTML is only necessary for creating live links in your Author Bio. If you do not have the links formatted in your Bio, then none will appear when the article is published.
Copyright and Violations
Whois Article Directory prohibits the use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates the copyright owner's rights. Authors should only submit their own original written work to which they have absolute copyright.
In cases where copyright is disputed (usually as a result of plagiarism or unauthorized copying), articles will be immediately removed, regardless of the arguments presented by the disputing parties.
In the Event of Copyright Violation
Whois Article Directory provides free informative content. We do not represent authors who publish works, or publishers who may post works found on Whois Article Directory to other web-sites, newsletters etc.. Subsequently Whois Article Directory has no legal standing to enforce copyright on behalf of authors.
Copyright resides solely with the authors who write the original article.
In the event of copyright violation, we advise authors to exercise their rights under the The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 by taking the following steps:
-
Contact the offending party directly asking them to rectify the copyright violation.
-
If the above fails, contact the ISP that hosts the offending website and the domain registrar that holds the registration for the website domain.
Information for the domain registrar and hosting service can generally be obtained by doing a lookup using any Whois service such as: http://www.whois.net
Most Domain Registrars and ISPs will respond to a copyright enforcement request by warning or suspending the offending party. If they fail to do so, have a lawyer make the same request in writing. This last action rarely fails to produce results.
