If you are studying to become an architect you are probably wondering how long it will take you to get one of those architectural jobs. Although it is not easy, it is not very difficult either. Award winning students are the first to get good jobs, but everyone has their chances, provided they study hard – architecture recruitment is one of the easiest ways of getting a good job if you prove you are worth it.

The basic disciplines of architecture are design and engineering. You need to have an understanding of materials science, and a good grasp of the technology of construction. Is it hard? It depends on every individual. Some people naturally find themselves interested in engineering, and have a native sense of design; others have to learn these things – but they may end up being just as good at their architectural jobs.

However, in order to have a chance at becoming an architect you first need to pay a lot of attention in class. The important things you can use for the profession are being introduced at school, so there is no need to worry about anything except surviving with the course. Architecture recruitment often starts in college, so having good results may pay off sooner than you think.

Architecture recruitment may mean different things; architecture firms recruiting senior students at a job fair, at university competitions or even offering scholarships – these are all forms of recruitment. Recruitment basically means that companies offer architectural jobs to students or graduates. The reason behind this is that companies are looking for young, talented people who have not had architectural jobs that they can train themselves. It is known that it is easier to train a young professional in your company than to work with an experienced one who is likely to have a different view.

Architects are said to be one of the least depressed workers of all professions. Their salary often starts at $30.000 per year; an architect director may well make over $80.000. This is the main reason why it is so difficult to get a job in architecture as a young graduate. In this situation, architecture recruitment seems a good alternative.

But as recruitment companies often offer training positions students wonder whether or not to take those jobs. There is no good answer, as it all depends on each student. Some may be happy with an unpaid training at a big architecture company, while others look for a great starting salary. Either way, it is good to know that there are a lot of recruitment companies and all students have to do is get their attention. Once they get the job or start training, all they have to do is work hard to prove they are worth that position. It is a fact that most trainees that prove to be hard working and have strong work ethics are soon offered full – time positions within the company that recruited them.
