In earlier times the operator used to say please hold and the caller started feeling sleepy and finally banged the phone down while the service provider was processing the customer’s request. This situation was really annoying for both customer and the employ of the company. But with music or messages on hold the caller is kept busy. By this act the problem of the caller is solved. He needs to visit the office for getting his work done. He can just sit at his desk and get all the things fixed without getting annoyed with the service provided by the company’s employees. Thus workload of customer care executives gets reduced as their daily walk-ins are reduced. Just imagine what will be the situation if every caller bangs the phone down and then gets into the company’s office to fight for his requests. It is really a difficult situation to imagine and manage too.
