Now that the weather is warming up, you should have some plans in motion to get customers into your coffee shop. It seems like the business does taper off as the warmer weather approaches. For many daily customers a cup of coffee or two is part of their routine regardless of how hot or cold it is outside. Yet not all of your customers are going to feel this way.

You can keep your coffee shop hopping in the summer though if you are creative about it. Offer a period of time in the afternoons from 2 -4 pm where you offer price drinks. This is a great way to keep people coming in because they already love what you have to offer. Now they can benefit from the price of it as well.

There are some great summer time drinks that can be coffee related too. For example you can offer iced coffee. Many coffee drinkers really like the change when it is hot outside. You can provide several different flavors too so they won't get tired of the same one day after day. For the avid coffee drinker, this can be the perfect choice so you may want to consider leaving it on the menu all year long.

Of course not all of the summer time drinks you offer have to involve coffee. What about fruit smoothies? They are cool, refreshing, and taste great. They are also very good selling items and easy to make. There is no reason why your coffee shop can't incorporate such a treat for guests during the summer time.

It won't take too much effort to sell some ice cream as well. You can get a small freezer to hold about five great flavors in. You can serve it in dishes or cones. It will get complicated if you have too many flavors or toppings. Yet having some basic ice cream flavors can be something your customers look forward to.

Think about ways to make the coffee shop inviting during the summer too. You may want to brighten the place up with some lighter curtains. You can also add some upbeat music to energize them. Don't forget to make sure the air conditioner is working well as everyone is going to want a comfortable temperature when they step inside your coffee shop.

Keep in mind that during the summer months many coffee shop guests will have their children with them. Do they feel welcome and comfortable in your business? Are there items on the menu they will be happy ordering? If not you will be missing out on the chance to make money from families. This isn't something you want to miss out on as it will increase your sales over just one person coming in to buy one item.

What are you doing to get customers into the coffee shop over the summer? If you are just going about your same old routine, chances are you are missing out on potential sales. There is a great deal of customers out there that will still come to your coffee shop in the summer. You want to entice them with a good variety of drinks and treats that they will be happy to come in for on a regular basis.
