How can you unlock any Samsung Mobile Phone?
Are you the proud owner of a new Samsung mobile phone? And are you facing problems while trying to use your phone with a different network provider? If yes, then read on carefully.
This problem arises due to your phone being locked by the mobile phone company. A question that will immediately come to your mind is why is it locked? Well, the mobile operator which comes with your phone subsidies your phone in a way so it is cheaper for you to buy. To earn their money back (and more) they want you to use their network for at least a year and preferably longer. That is why the operators make agreements with the phone manufacturers to lock the phones to stop you from switching to other providers and thus limiting your freedom.
These types of locks are frequently found in many cell phones and if you wish, you can get rid of these locks and use your phone with any network you want to. An important note the opening of the locks (also called simlock) is not illegal and the resell value of your phone will also increase in the process.
Now let us move on to the procedure to be followed for unlocking your Samsung mobile phone. At first, there is some information that you have to gather regarding your handset. You will need to know your Samsung phone model and which cable you need to unlock it. Different Samsung models need different cables to unlock them. Often you can use the original usb cable that comes with the phone but sometimes you need a so called special FTDI usb cable. Which is a special cable used to unlock Samsung models. A third option is a Serial cable which always can be used to unlock your phone.
Where to unlock your Samsung phone is the next logical question. There are a couple choices. First you can visit a local shop near your home and bring your phone there. If it’s a professional shop they will unlock your phone while you wait. Do not trust shops that make you leave your phone at the shop. There are various (free) unlock methods on the web which are not safe and can damage your phone and you do not want the shop to use any of those methods (and yes, sometimes they do!). Another possibility is using a so called ‘remote unlock solution’. This is a online service which lets you unlock your Samsung from the comfort of your own home. These systems are developed to make it as easy and safe as possible for you. You will have an unlocked phone within 10 minutes without leaving your chair. A good example of such a service is UnlockSamsungOnline.com, which has been around for over 2 years and the owners for more then 6 years in the unlock business.
After you have unlocked your Samsung phone you can now use every compatible simcard in your phone. Notice the word compatible here, this because Samsung phones seem to have some trouble with very old simcards (3 years or older) this because these simcards use a different voltage compared to new cards. Also a common made mistake is trying to use a non 3G (UMTS) simcard in a UMTS only phone or the other way around using a 3G simcard (e.g. a '3' sim) in a non 3G phone.
