The XM satellite radio also has twenty one channels of the most advanced traffic and weather information. XM satellite radio uses two Boeing satellites namely Rock and Roll. Both of these are geostationary satellites which mean they are placed in geostationary earth orbit. Signal is transmitted by the ground station which is received by GEO satellites. These satellites retransmit the signal back to the earth.
