Having a home of own in the country is a dream of everyone. A home where there are fewer cars, clean air, and friendly people. It should be place where you could go for peaceful walks beneath a canopy of trees, hear the robins sing, and splash your feet in a cool babbling stream. Almost everyone has such dreams and thus spends plenty of time thinking about the country dream. But no one has a clue about how to make a wise decision that when you are finally ready to make your country dream come true. A very easy check list will helps in deciding and ensuring that the country dream doesn't turn into your worst nightmare. This list includes water supply, sewage disposal, power and telephone, property access and property boundaries. First and foremost consideration is water supply. We all know life is not possible without water and then think of vacations in a place without proper water supply is just like a nightmare. Very few country properties offer the convenience of being hooked up to a municipal that is piped and treated water supply.

Thus, you probably will be considering properties that depend upon a well to supply drinking water. Drinking water is taken for granted in most parts of the country, but you can't automatically assume that all properties will have an adequate supply of good water. In case you have a well, you have to be concerned with both the quantity and quality of water the well supplies. Both of these properties can be and should be tested before you buy the property. This can be done by a simple test called the well discharge test. In this test a technician pumps water from the well for a specified amount of time, usually three to four hours. We can do this test with the existing pump in the well, or with a portable pump provided by the technician. Many experts recommend using a high capacity pump that can pump greater volumes of water than the well produces to get a true reading of the gallons per minute of well discharge. Like for example, if you have a fifteen gallon per minute well and use a ten gallon per minute pump for the test, you'll never know the true capacity of your well.

This test is conducted to check out the quantity of water in the well. Along with this the quality of water that the well produces is equally important. Two separate tests can be conducted to determine the quality of water that the well produces. Portability test is the first test which is conducted to verify that the water is safe for human consumption. The purpose of this test is to verify that the well contains no contamination, and that the water is safe for human consumption.
