It is important for teenagers to have comprehensive information about teen growth. The teens want to know the factors that affect their growth and growing well inspires confidence.
As teenagers exit their childhood years, their bodies begin to release lesser amount of human growth hormones. These hormones are produced by the pituitary gland and stimulate other processes of the body for maximum growth and development. This might cause alarm to teenagers because these teens want to reach the needed growth to be in among his peers. Height is very important to the eyes of the teenagers.
It is believed that as a person matures, his aging pituitary glands began to lose the ability to produce human growth hormones. Studies by experts have shown evidence that a person’s pituitary gland needs to be stimulated in order to produce the needed hormones.
Proper diet and nutrition could stimulate the production of the needed hormones. It is just unfortunate that the teens want to eat more junk foods than the nutritious ones. Media propaganda on junk foods had successfully encouraged the teenagers to opt for these types of foods unmindful of the ill effects it will bring to their bodies. The parents must take the necessary actions to encourage the teens to eat the right food instead of resorting to snack foods loaded with much fat and salt.
One way of supplementing the nutritional needs of the body is to take multivitamins. These vitamins are available in variations, most are just over the counters, others need physician’s advice. The contents of these vitamins can be read on the labels. Although multivitamins have general applications, the parents must take extra caution in giving the right vitamins. Meat, fish and fruits are rich source of natural vitamins. The parents and the teens must know that wrong preparation of the food will result to losing the vitamins the body needs. Studies show that fat-soluble vitamins can withstand normal cooking in contrast to water soluble vitamins which are destroyed by heat. Light and heat destroys Vitamin B2 while light and air destroys vitamin c.
The teens must also undergo regular exercises. These types of exercises range from hiking, strolling, jogging, bodybuilding and engaging in sports. Although exercises are generally recommended, choosing the right exercise for the individual teenager needs recommendation by his doctor after a thorough medical examination. This is most especially needed in more extraneous exercises.
The best way to attain the needed growth among teenagers is to avoid dangerous drugs. These drugs like cocaine, marijuana and others cause retardation in growth and other ill effects to the body and the intellect. To help the teenagers avoid drugs, the parents must encourage them to engage in sports and other wholesome activities.
The parents must therefore give their best in giving a comprehensive information and advice to their teenagers about teen growth. The teens want a better growth, and the parents must be ready at all times.
